Your host Peter offers accompanied hiking-tours to our house-guests twice a week.
From May we start exploring the mountain-range of Rofan where the last snow has just melted away. The lush flora here is unique in its diversity. Many rare plants can be found here like auriculas, stone-roses, primroses, orchids, alpine balsam and pasque flowers.
Throughout summertime until October when the first snow covers surrounding summits again, lots of different flowers and animals can be observed making sure you take home great and memorable experience of our hikes.
As a passionate mountaineer Peter knows much about geological features, genesis of the alps and of course each path and hidden trail on our tours.
You will learn about the live of the mountain farmers, why their existence and work is so indispensable for our environment and why – for example – cows are important to avalanche protection.
Mountain-wildlife is curious, against the wind you can get as close as 10m to gemses and you might be able to hand-feed jackdaws. Eagles can be seen in the mountain-range of Kaiser- & Rofan, Marmots are common in the meadows of Thiersee, in spring their offspring plays around their lairs.
According to your fitness and physical conditions our tours are carefully chosen, we offer not only summit-tours but also hikes and walks for beginners and children.
